Dr. Subrina D. Oliver

A proud U.S. Navy Construction Battalion (NMCB-21 Seabee) Veteran, honorably discharged, Dr. Subrina D. Oliver is attracted to nontraditional careers with a prowess in technologies. Her peers consider her to be a trailblazer for such feats like earning an Automotive Technology Degree in half the time prescribed by Denver Automotive & Diesel College and most notably, returning to her Alma Mater, high school to become one of New York State Education Department’s (NYSEd) first female teacher certified to teach Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs and Transportation Systems.

Her career pursuits led Dr. Oliver to attain a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science (focused on Occupational Education), Master of Education in Leadership & Administration, and Master of Business Administration in E-Business. She is a veteran NYSEd Educator with over 21 years (adding Career & Technical Education disciplines and Building and District Administrator roles); garnering multiple education licenses (i.e., School District Leader, School Business Administrator, Technology Education, and Business & Marketing Education); and certifications (i.e., Master Scheduler, PLTW (Project Lead the Way…Principles of Engineering and Introduction to Engineering Design;) and EbD (Engineering by Design). Dr. Oliver served: as Long Island’s (LI) first K-12 Director of STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) and CTE (Career & Technical Education); and as an Adjunct Professor for a SUNY Automotive Dept.

Presently, she serves as the CEO of both, O-High Technologies, LLC (www.o-hightech.com a MWBE -NYS, Nassau County, NYC, and Port Authority of NY & NJ-certified company) and TalentPipeline.Press (www.talentpipeline.press) as well as, the Founder of the O-High Foundation, Inc. ( a 501 c-3 not-for-profit company).
Of all professional accomplishments, the self-proclaimed “STEMinist ” and 2016 Doctoral graduate of Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, Dr. Oliver maintains she is proudest of her commitment to provide career-connected STEM-pathways for underserved talents. Most notable are her not-for-profit’s efforts (via www.o-high.org and www.theSTEMProjectCenter.Org) creating innovative events for future workforce-stakeholders to help advance career awareness and promote skills-readiness; as well as, other endeavors, like the 2022 launching of her newest endeavor, a magazine, (the LI TalentPipeline) a digital product that will feature Long Island companies and their workforce demands and job vacancies. To be distributed to LI public school districts.
Dr. Oliver belongs to a variety of organizations, such as the: Energeia Partnership (Cohort 2021…the absolute best cohort of record), President Elect for ITEEA-CSL (International Technology Engineering Educators Association – Council of STEM Leaders), US Coalition of Black Women Business, LIAAC (Long Island African American Chambers of Commerce), LISTnet (Long Island’s largest Technology Network), SCAC of DST, Inc, (Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.), SRI (Space Renaissance International) and WVI (Women’s Veterans Interactive).
2023 Empact Inc Change Agent Awardee, 2022, Ling Island Software and Technology Network (LISTnet) Techonomic Awardee, The Long Island Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (LI CBTU), awarded her the 2017 Service Award; In 2018 she became an Honoree for the Town of Babylon’s 30^th Annual Black History Month – “African Americans in Times of War”.
